Leicester teenager terrorised neighbours with air rifle

Ben Combrinck, a 19-year-old from Countesthorpe, Leicestershire, went on a rampage armed with a knife and an air rifle, burgling a neighbour’s house and causing £1,000 worth of damage.

Months later, he threatened another neighbour with an air rifle, leading to police intervention.

The first incident occurred on December 5, 2023, when Combrinck broke into his next-door neighbour’s house on Foston Road in Countesthorpe.

Ring Doorbell footage captured Combrinck attacking his neighbour’s door with a knife and threatening to “wet you up.”

Combrinck was arrested by police armed with tasers after threatening to shoot a neighbour with an air rifle.

The burglary victim moved house due to feeling unsafe, and the new resident was also threatened by Combrinck.

The other victim had to pay £750 to repair his car, followed by a further £2,000 to replace his front door with a high security reinforced door.

Victim impact statements revealed significant emotional distress and financial costs for the victims.

Combrinck was charged with a total of six charges including two counts of possessing an air weapon with intent to cause fear of violence, affray, burglary with intent to cause damage, possessing a knife in public and criminal damage.

He received a 24-month sentence suspended for 18 months and a three-year restraining order against contacting his victims.
