Mother and son jailed over XL bully dog attack

A mother and son have been jailed following an incident where an XL bully dog attacked a child.

In February this year an eight year old boy was attacked by the dog and suffered serious life-changing injuries in Bootle, Merseyside.

The defendants were Lewis Young, 30, who owned the dog and his mother Amanda Young, 49.

Charge: Being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control, causing injury

Sentence: 2 years in prison (Lewis Young)
20 months in prison (Amanda Young)
