Two arrests after firearm incident in Leicester

Police were called out this morning following reports of a weapon being fired in the area near Leicester Royal Infirmary. Reports suggested a man was firing a weapon from a property on Winifred Street.

Armed officers from Leicestershire Police attended the scene shortly before 9:30am this morning (7 May), and two arrests were made. A 32 year old man and a 26 year old woman have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

No injuries occurred as a result of this incident, and both persons remain in custody at this time. Inquiries are continuing.
