Two men, aged 51 and 53, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted child abduction in Middlesbrough after approaching five children on Homerton Road in the Pallister Park area of the town.
The incident occurred at around 5.15pm on Tuesday, April 22, and all the children managed to escape and inform an adult who contacted the police.
Cleveland Police officers are conducting patrols in the area to reassure the community and encourage anyone with concerns to speak to them.
The two men reportedly got into their vehicle and drove towards Ormesby Road after the incident.
The investigation is ongoing, and the men remain in police custody as of Tuesday.
