Man admits to causing death of three year old girl in Manchester

Rawal Rehman, a van driver, admitted to causing death by dangerous driving after taking at least 20 lines of cocaine before a crash.

The incident resulted in the death of a three-year-old girl, Louisa Palmisano, known as Lulu, in Manchester city centre on Saturday, February 22nd.

35 year old Rehman ignored stop signs and drove into the path of an oncoming tram on Booth Street, which caused his van to hit Lulu and her parents on the pavement.

After the crash, Rehman, of Lambton Road, Chorlton, abandoned his van and fled the scene but was arrested two days later.

Lulu suffered a major head injury and died after being rushed to Manchester Royal Infirmary.

Rehman has pled guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and will be sentenced on Tuesday, May 27, at Manchester Crown Court.
