Police are continuing to hunt for a driver following a hit and run incident in the Fenham area of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, which left a man in his 40s with serious injuries.
The victim sustained a broken hip and a ruptured liver. He is currently in critical but stable condition in the hospital.
Police are searching for the driver involved in the hit and run, believed to be driving a Jaguar. They are appealing for witnesses and any CCTV or dashcam footage.
Sgt Dave Roberts from Northumbria Police’s Roads Policing Unit has urged the driver to come forward as investigations continue.
The incident occurred on Bavington Drive at around 6:15pm on Friday evening (18th April).
The police have asked anyone with information to contact them, quoting reference number NP-20250418-0773.
Since the incident, local residents have expressed concern about the speed at which people tend to drive on that road, with one resident previously contacting Newcastle City Council to request traffic calming measures.
