Man banned from keeping animals after beating kitten

Kyson Cummings, from Swindon, Wiltshire, was found guilty of failing to meet the needs of his kitten, Grimz, leading to the animal’s euthanasia due to severe injuries.

The four month old cat suffered extreme injuries to the skull and spine following blunt force trauma, which Cummings’ claimed was the result of a TV falling onto it.

The 21 year old received an 18-month community order and a five-year ban on keeping animals.

Expert testimony suggested deliberate harm. The RSPCA brought the case against Cummings, highlighting the responsibility of pet owners to ensure their animals’ safety and well-being.
