Woman appears in court after shouting abuse at airline staff

A woman has been given a suspended prison sentence after unleashing a tirade of abuse towards cabin crew on a flight.

58 year old April Wilson, of Front Street, Houghton-le-Spring, shouted at members of staff and told them to f**k off during a drunken tirade on board a Jet2 flight from Alicante to Newcastle, on November 19th last year.

In addition, Wilson also tried to grab the flight manager, and when the plane landed at Newcastle, she removed her seat belt before being instructed to do so and tried to get up from her seat.

A number of passengers on board also complained about her behaviour.

Charge: Being drunk on an aircraft (pleaded guilty)

Sentence: 6 months prison (suspended for 18 months)
