Three prisoners have been sentenced to extra prison time following a mutiny in September 2019 at HMP Long Lartin near Evesham, Worcestershire.
The prisoners armed themselves with makeshift weapons before carrying out a complete takeover of a wing, which included:
- Smashing CCTV cameras
- Causing floods
- Building barricades
- Setting fires
The total cost of the damage caused was £110,000.
The following inmates were sentenced as follows:
Dean Cody, 38
Original Sentence: 21 years
Added Time: 45 months
Derek Law, 40
Original Sentence: 19 years
Added Time: 40 months
John Ward, 43
Original Sentence: 32 years
Added Time: 16 months
A further three inmates are due to be sentenced for the same incident later this year.
