Lee Byer has been sentenced to an indefinite hospital order following the killing of 87 year old Thomas O’Halloran in Greenford, West London in August 2022.
Mr O’Halloran, who used a mobility scooter, suffered stab wounds to the neck, chest and abdomen.
Byer, 45, pleaded guilty to manslaughter by diminished responsibility and having an offensive weapon.
He will never be released until and unless doctors deem it safe to do so.
