47 year old Vincent Morgan, from Malton, North Yorkshire, has been charged following the death of local woman, Lisa Welford, last week. Police were called to the River Derwent in the town, on Wednesday 24th April 2024, to reports of a woman in the water. The woman, named as 49 year old Lisa Welford, was rescued, but later died in hospital.
So far, Vincent Morgan has appeared at York Magistrates Court, on Monday 29th April. The case was then sent to Leeds Crown Court on Tuesday 30th April. He has been remanded into custody with the following charges:
- Murder
- Causing actual bodily harm (x2) (Relating to two incidents against Lisa Welford in February 2024)
