The murderer of Thomas O’Halloran has pleaded guilty to manslaughter by diminished responsibility. The 87 year old was stabbed to death in the neck and chest by Lee Byer in Greenford, West London, on Tuesday 16th August 2022. Lee Byer was charged with his murder three days later.
The trial began last month, in April 2024 with Byer pleading guilty on Monday this week. The pleas have been accepted by the prosecutor after a mental health assessment found Byer to be suffering from paranoid delusions which included hearing voices as well as paranoid schizophrenia.
Byer is currently being held at Broadmoor Hospital in Berkshire.
